Day 1: Arrive Northland On arrival at Kerikeri airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your accommodation in Matauri Bay (self drive passengers collect rental car on arrival). Set on 6000 acres, your accommodation affords spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, this truly is a place where you can indulge your senses and rejuvenate body and soul.
Day 2: Northland - Private Launch Charter A full day private launch charter is the perfect way to explore the Bay of Islands! Your hosts will stop in a secluded bay giving you the opportunity to swim and explore the islands or simply sit back with a glass of wine and take in the scenery. All tours are catered to your requirements and include a beautiful lunch as well as morning and afternoon tea.
Day 3: Northland - At Leisure At leisure to enjoy this beautiful property and also experience a variety of nearby activities including world famous game fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, sea kayaking, and hunting for boar and pheasant. Guided tours feature visits to the Ninety Mile Beach, Tane Mahuta, Doubtless Bay, the Puketi Kauri Forest, Rainbow Falls, historic Russell and the Waitangi Treaty House (additional cost).
Day 4: Northland - Rotorua Travel to Kerikeri airport today for your flight to Rotorua (Flight not included). On arrival in Rotorua collect your new rental vehicle or transfer to your accommodation, surrounded by magnificent natural beauty. The lodge is spectacular and mighty cascades of water forming the Huka Falls are a short walk from the lodge.
Day 5: Rotorua - Day at Leisure Treetops is a haven for the senses - a place to relax amid surroundings of unspoiled beauty. Enjoy gentle strolls around the grounds soaking up the serenity of the outstretched valley. Bask in the beauty on a sun-drenched lounger on the lawns, breathing the pure air of an ancient paradise. Cool your feet in the refreshing, spring waters, which cradle the lodge. Today is at leisure to relax.
Day 6: Rotorua - Taupo Depart the "thermal city" of Rotorua and continue south through the large Kaingaroa man made forest to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo. The area owes its landscapes to its dramatic volcanic origins. Lake Taupo fills two of these vast former volcanoes and is New Zealand's largest lake. Taupo is also home to the spectacular Huka Falls.
Day 7: Taupo - Mountains & Lakes Heli Tour Your private helicopter awaits you on the front lawn of the lodge. From here you fly into the Kaimanawa Range wilderness, sighting wild horses and possibly red or sika deer. Then set down beside the crystal waters of the Waipakihi River for lunch, before re-boarding your helicopter and continuing west along the Kaimanawa's towards Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngauruhoe and the snow-capped peaks and crater lake of Mt Ruapehu before returning to Huka Lodge.
Day 8: Taupo - Palliser Bay Depart Taupo and travel to your accommodation, framed by the Rimutaka Ranges to the west and Palliser Bay to the east. With private native forest, spectacular beaches, rivers, lakes and wetlands, Wharekauhau is a haven from the outside world.
Day 9: Palliser Bay No visit to Wharekauhau is complete without a tour of this classic Romney sheep station. Explore the far reaches of Wharekauhau Country Estate in four-wheel drive comfort. The farm tour features all the activities which make up New Zealand's legendary farming heritage, including sheep shearing and sheep dogs in action. Afterwards enjoy the surroundings of Wharekauhau and move as the mood takes you. Experience the New Zealand outdoors or simply relax and unwind. Day 10: Palliser Bay - Wellington Travel to Wellington today where on arrival the day is at leisure to explore what Wellington has to offer. Perhaps take a trip on the Cable Car which takes you from Lambton Quay to Kelburn or enjoy a visit to the Botanic Gardens. Highly recommended is a visit to Te Papa Museum (additional cost).
Day 11: Wellington - Nelson Travle to the airport today for your flight to Nelson (flight notincluded). On arrival in Nelson collect your new rental vehicle or transfer to your accommodation. Set on a 2000 acre working farm, luxury begins with the lodges name - Paratiho is the modern Maori word for Paradise.
Day 12: Nelson - At Leisure Today is at leisure. In keeping with the pampering theme, you may like to indulge in on of the therapies offered at the on-site spa, or partake in some of the recreational activities onsite: tennis court; golf putting green; petanque; croquet; a well-equipped gym complete with a sanarium (a cross between a sauna and a steam room with less steam and heat but the same effect); farm and native bush walks (additional cost).
Day 13: Nelson - Christchurch Depart Nelson today and travel south through the wine district and then along the coast to Kaikoura where time permitting you may like to partake in a Whale Watch Tour (additional cost) before continuing to the Christchurch region where you stay this evening. From the moment you pass through the main gates of this historic estate you step into another time, another place.
Day 14: Christchurch At leisure today to relax in the comfort of the lodge surroundings or to explore what Christchurch has to offer. Perhaps visit the Anglican Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Arts Centre, take a tram ride around Christchurch City or enjoy punting on the Avon River (additional cost).
Day 15: Christchurch - Queenstown Travel on o Christchurch Airport this morning and join your flight to Queenstown in New Zealand's beautiful Southern Lakes region. On arrival travel onto your luxury accommodation (self drive passengers collect your rental car at the airport on arrival). Queenstown is the Southern Hemisphere's premiere four season alpine and lake resort. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and overlooked by the majestic Remarkables Range, Queenstown is the perfect destination all year round.
Day 16: Queenstown - Dart River Safari Today enjoy the true wilderness experience on a journey of discovery, ancient forests, cascading waterfalls and New Zealand wilderness at its best. Jetboat the full length of the Dart River . . . and more! Then journey the back road via Paradise and enjoy an easy walk amidst ancient forests and birdsong - a must for any visitor to New Zealand, a journey to mesmerize even the most seasoned traveller. Awe-inspiring, informative, educational and fun are the words that will describe your day!
Day 17: Queenstown Today is at leisure to relax or explore Queenstown. Whether it's bungy jumping, white-water rafting, heli-skiing, fly fishing, hang gliding, horse riding, jet boating or scenic flights, you will find thrills and excitement in every way imaginable. Meanwhile, other activities such as exploring historic Arrowtown, scenic walks, ecotours, shopping, galleries, cafes and an exciting nightlife provide something for everyone all year round. Highly recommended is a day excursion to Milford Sound.
Day 18: Depart Queenstown Sadly, your holiday is at an end as you travel to the airport today for your onward flight. Here, we bid you a fond farewell to your homeland and hope you leave with many happy memories of your stay in Aotearoa, New Zealand. |
