 Cape Kidnappers Golf Course
| Cape Kidnappers are pleased to announce that early this summer they will be breaking ground on the new lodge at Cape Kidnappers, located on the North Island in the Hawke's Bay, one of New Zealand's most important and loveliest wine districts and favourite vacation spots. Cape Kidnappers, shown on just about every map of New Zealand, has a rich history beginning with it's discovery by Captain James Cook in 1769.
The new lodge, or 'The Farm' as it will be called, promises to be another iconic, 'not to be missed' experience. Like Kauri Cliffs, Cape Kidnappers is set on a 5,000-acre sheep and cattle farm which rolls along cliffs that plunge dramatically to the sea.
On the exterior the lodge will resemble a cluster of farm buildings, designed to blend with the rustic feel of the area. The interior will feature the same luxurious comfort and originality of Kauri Cliffs. Spacious cottages, each with a breathtaking view, high ceilings, fireplaces and large luxury bathrooms, will fan out from the main building. Graceful French doors lead to large outdoor porches looking out at a stunning 180 degree Pacific panorama stretching from the Art Deco city of Napier all the way to Black Reef in the south.
Critics and golf devotees alike have already fallen in love with Cape Kidnappers' links-style golf course. Designed by Tom Doak, currently the hottest architect in golf, the course was ranked Number 27 in the world by Golf Magazine, the world's only authority on the subject.
Now golfers and non-golfers alike will have a luxurious place to stay while exploring Hawke's Bay vineyards and other pleasures. The Farm at Cape Kidnappers will open for business in late 2007. |
