Day 1: Arrive Auckland
On arrival at Auckland airport you collect your rental vehicle before making your way to your accommodation. Known as the 'City of Sails', Auckland is New Zealand's largest and most vibrant city offering an array of cosmopolitan experiences. Enfolded by two huge harbours, Auckland is an environment that's alive with cultural excitement and sea-flavoured challenges. This afternoon you unwind as you each enjoy a one hour massage at the Spa at Mollies.
Day 2: At Leisure
Today is at leisure to explore what Auckland has to offer. Perhaps visit Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World and Antarctic Encounter, take a cruise on Auckland Harbour or make your way to the top of the Sky Tower for spectacular views of Auckland city.
Cathedral Cove, Coromandel | Day 3: Auckland to The Coromandel
Farewell Auckland as you travel south along the Southern Motorway to reach the market garden area of Pukekohe. Then continue on to reach your destination of the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, a beautiful rugged area fringed with dozens of excellent beaches. Your destination in the Coromandel is the town of Whitianga.
Day 4: At Leisure / Hot Water Beach
Today is at leisure to enjoy the best that this region has to offer. Perhaps a picnic at the beach or in the bush, a relaxing day at the stunning beaches or take a 20 minute drive to Hot Water Beach which is one of the region’s most fascinating places. For two hours either side of low tide, you can dig in the sand for hot spring water and make your own spa pool. This evening dinner is included at Villa Toscana.
Day 5: Coromandel to Rotorua
Today travel along the Bay of Plenty Coastline before heading inland across the volcanic plateau to the geothermal city of Rotorua, passing many of the regions crystal clear lakes en-route. Best known for its geysers, boiling mud pools, crystal lakes teeming with trout, steaming cliffs and volcanoes, Rotorua is also the home of Maori culture.
Hot Water Beach, Lake Tarawera | Day 6: Cruise Lake Tarawera
Today you enjoy 4 hours exclusive cruising on Lake Tarawera, which lies at the foot of majestic Mt Tarawera, a dormant volcano that erupted in 1886 destroying the world famous pink and white terraces. Visit historic sights around the lakeshore (a comprehensive commentary on the history of the area is available), fish for trophy sized Rainbow Trout or take a thrilling ride on our three-seater Jet Ski. Perhaps stop for a swim in the thermal water before enjoying lunch.
Day 7: Rotorua to the Mangatawhiri Valley
It’s a leisurely drive today as you farewell Rotorua and travel through the fertile Waikato region to reach your destination nestled in the native bush of the Mangatawhiri Valley. This afternoon a romantic hot tub prepared with sensuous and aromatic oils is yours to share before you surrender to a Sodashi Signature Body Massage in the couples only therapy room. This massage uses smooth, rhythmical stroking movements to send you both into a state of deep relaxation. A perfect way to end your journey together. Duration is 80 minutes. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 8: On To Auckland & Depart
Sadly your time in New Zealand comes to an end as you travel the short distance and return your rental car to Auckland airport for your onward flight. Here, we bid you a fond farewell to your homeland and hope you leave with many happy memories of your stay in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
