Sail an America's Cup Yacht on Auckland Harbour

Day 2:  Sail Auckland Harbour & Auckland Bridge Climb
Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL 40 and NZL 41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to experience sailing on these grand prix racing machines.  Today you become the crew and are encouraged to take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and enjoy the action as you sail down the Auckland Harbour.  Then later today is your chance to be Spiderman.  Spanning a harbour so beautiful it brings tears to the eyes of even the most hardened, this full clamber will have you clamouring for more.  This is the one and only Bridge Climb in New Zealand, coming complete with your very own tour guide.  Lasting for 1 1/2 hours, this climb will have you wondering whether to look at your feet or focus on the spectacular views.

Day 3:  Auckland to the Coromandel Peninsula
Depart Auckland today as you travel south along the Southern Motorway to reach the market garden area of Pukekohe.  Then continue on to reach your destination of the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, a beautiful rugged area fringed with dozens of excellent beaches.

Sea Kayaking in the Coromandel

Day 4:  Sea Kayaking

Today you enjoy your sea kayaking tour and on your trip cover what we believe to be the most spectacular stretch of coast on the Coromandel Peninsula, if not New Zealand.  Kayaking is backpacking on the sea.  No rush, no noise, just you and nature at its best.  This, their speciality tour (due to the overwhelming popularity and feedback) runs from Hahei twice a day.  Paddle through amazing sea caves, explore offshore islands, snorkel the marine reserve & enjoy a cappuccino at our exclusive Cathedral Cove Beachfront Café’.  Duration is around 3 ˝ hours.  Afterwards the day is at your leisure.

Day 5:  Coromandel Peninsula to Rotorua & Hells Gate
Today travel along the Bay of Plenty Coastline before heading inland across the volcanic plateau to the geothermal city of Rotorua, passing many of the regions crystal clear lakes en-route.  Best known for its geysers, boiling mud pools, crystal lakes teeming with trout, steaming cliffs and volcanoes, Rotorua is also the home of Maori culture.  Just before you reach Rotorua you stop at Hells Gate and enjoy the traditional mud bath experience, followed by the relaxing sulphur spa overlooking the geothermal reserve. - a completely unique geothermal experience. The silky smooth geothermal mud in combination with the sulphurous geothermal water opens the skins pores allowing the active ingredients to gently exfoliate and treat the skin.

Hotel: Novotel Rotorua - Lakeview Room (2 nights)
B&B: Koura Lodge - Premium Room (2 nights)
Boutique: The Lodge at 199 - Lakeview Room (2 nights)

Day 6:  Adventure Abounds
Experience the Freefall Extreme
Today you enjoy adventure and thrills!  Not for the faint hearted, this combination of adventure products is full adrenalin.  Start your day with simulated sky-diving as you take a 2 minute teaser on the Freefall Extreme - nowhere else can you experience the sensation of flying “unattached”.  Then it’s on to the Shweeb velodrome - the world’s first human-powered monorail racetrack.  Riders sit back in the recumbent position and due to the minimal resistance reach speeds of up to 45km per hour and on the curves getting up to a 60 degree angle, making it a dynamic and thrilling ride experience.  The Agrojet will astound you as this jet race-boat reaches incredible speeds in short distances as it races through a man made course - delivering you up to 100kph in 4.5 seconds on 1 km of manmade purpose built water course.  Then it is into the hang-gliding harness, raised to a height of 40 metres, pull the rip-cord and experience flying through the air reaching speeds up to 130kph.  The day’s not over yet as you get your backside trackside and experience the thrill of racing a sprint car around the special circuit.  These cars are the real thing to test your skills over 12 laps.  (Please note you must hold a current car licence and be over 1.5m in height for this Off Road sprint car racing activity).

Day 7:  Rotorua to the Hawke's Bay
Depart and continue south through the large Kaingaroa man made forest to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo, home to New Zealand's largest lake and the spectacular Huka Falls.  Then continue on to the Hawke’s Bay.  The major entertainment on the road from Taupo to Napier is the fantastic scenery.  There’s a bit of everything - rugged hills, beautiful valleys, gentle plains and huge vistas.

Hotel: Scenic Circle Te Pania Hotel - Superior Room (2 nights)
B&B: Cobden Garden Homestay - Guest Room (2 nights)
Boutique: Mangapapa Lodge - Lodge Room (2 nights)
Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Flight

Day 8:  Hot Air Balloon Flight & Leisure Time
This morning you meet your hosts at dawn on the western outskirts of Hastings, and fly by hot air balloon in a group of six passengers with the pilot, over a patchwork of farmland, vineyards, orchards, and town, with a picturesque mountain backdrop.  The balloons are launched from sites to give the best advantage of wind direction.  After the flight the chase vehicle will return you to your vehicle which will remain at the launch site.  After packing up, share a traditional ballooning picnic before returning to the meeting place.  Flights take place in the early morning within the first few hours of sunrise.  They last approximately one hour but 4 hours total excursion time is normal.

Day 9:  Depart the Hawke's Bay

Sadly your time in New Zealand comes to an end as you return your rental vehicle to either Napier or Auckland Airport in time to join your onward flight.  Here, we bid you a fond farewell to your homeland and hope you leave with many happy memories of your stay in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
